Ready for a hands on medical placement? Get hands on in the exciting country of Vietnam.

Utilise your medical skills for the benefit of local communities in the Hao Binh Province, in a local nursery home and friendship village.

You’ll even get to visit the incredible views at Ha Long Bay!

Day 1: Hanoi arrival - Orientation Meals: D

The day you have been waiting for has finally arrived… Welcome to Vietnam!

After arriving at Noi Bai Airport and getting your Vietnam Visa be prepared for the time of your life.

Your wonderful rep will meet you and guide you to the car where you’ll be taken to you your hotel to check-in. At 7 pm enjoy an Orientation meeting with our guide.

We will explain a little bit about Vietnam’s History and also, teach you some basic Vietnamese which will be very useful for the time you spend in Vietnam.

We will also introduce the places where you will be travelling and exploring during your time in Vietnam. After the orientation we will hit the streets for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2: Hanoi like a local - Ciry exploration - Meals: B L

To start the trip, we enjoy a walking tour through Hanoi’s 36 Streets otherwise known as the Old Quarter. Since its creation, the streets are named following their craftsman products, such as Sugar Street, Mattress Street, Silver Street, Silk street.

Here you can see thousands of traditional craftsman shopkeepers scattered along the streets. You have ancient Hanoi’s most breath-taking spots to look forward to today such as Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple, Hoa Lo Prison which you will get the chance to experience.

Ever wonder how a 1,000-year-old-historical city kept its authentic lifestyle until today? You will find out during your stay in Hanoi. You will get to enjoy a range of special Vietnamese foods at the street food stalls along the way, such as Vietnamese ‘pho’ or ‘bun cha’, and the unique ‘egg coffee’.

We will also take a walk down the iconic train tracks and grab a 25 USD cent Bia Hoi along the way! The rest of the day will be free to chill, and we leave you to wonder… Where will the night take you?

Day 3-4-5: Impact – Dien Hong nursery home/ friendship village for disabled people - Meals: B L

You will be working at the Dien Hong Nursery Home over the next three days. The Nursery home is now taking care of around 70 elderly people in each of the two centres on the outskirts of Hanoi.

These are some of the leading Nursery homes in Hanoi and you will spend your time volunteering with staff in catering, caring and organizing healthy games for the residents.

At 5pm after the end to a long day helping the local Vietnamese people, you will be taken back to the hostel which is only a 40-minute drive.

Day 6: Hanoi-Hoa Binh Communiy - Medical Project - Meals: B L D

This morning after saying goodbye to the nursery home, you will travel to Hoa Binh. You will have a 4 hour beautifully scenic drive which will take you through various rice fields, valleys and limestone mountains.

Check in to your homestay and you will start your activities with the local community. When you arrive, you will be welcomed by local community and have the opportunity to discuss activities that you will be participating in during your homestay.

This will focus on helping deliver health check-ups and providing healthcare training to the local people and kids around the villages. Today you will have a chance to learn some Vietnamese and then you can test your Vietnamese language skills with the local children. The local people, who know the area inside out, will take you sightseeing around the village. Prepare for the picturesque Vietnamese countryside with remarkable scenic surroundings such as rice fields, bamboos, streams, bridges, domestic animals and local mountainous people. In the late afternoon, following your adventure in the day sightseeing around Vietnam, you can then travel to your homestay. Put on your chef’s hat and join in on cooking traditional Vietnamese food with the local people who know how it’s done.

Day 7-8-9-10: Hoa Binh Community - Medical Project - Meals: B, L, D

After Breakfast, we will go to the project site where we will begin the community project.

Community Medical Project:

You will spend the entire day at the communal clinic assisting the local doctors and nurses. You will be helping doctors and nurses with completing check-ups and treatments however if there is something you really want to help out with then what you get involved in is flexible!

After working on the project, in the afternoon when you finish at 16:00 you will go back to your home stay and join in during some cultural immersion activities like farming, cooking or local dancing.

After Dinner, you are free to walk around the village, explore and relax.

Day 11: Hoa Binh - Project wrap up MEALS: B

This is your last day at the placement, where you can say goodbye to the children and other people you have been helping during the past few days.

Then put your best dancing shoes on for a farewell party in community. Following the party, you will get the bus which will take you back to Hanoi.

The rest of day is free for you to explore Vietnam on your own!

Day 12: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay: B, L, D

At 8am, our bus will pick you up and you will go straight to Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay. Ha Long Bay is one of the most spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Areas and the world’s largest marine limestone ‘karts’ landscape.

On arrival you will board your boat, a wooden structure built on the model of the old Vietnamese court vessels. This typical boat, with sails, wide stern and a rectangular superstructure will take you to the World Heritage area.

Several activities are offered during the trip, included swimming on the island, visiting floating villages and especially collecting sea trashes while kayaking. Enjoy an overnight stay on the cruise through Ha Long Bay.

Day 13: Ha Long Bay – Hanoi (B, L, D)

Wake up from your overnight stay on the boat, to the beautiful views of the bay and the surrounding islands. Your cruise will continue around the bay while brunch is served.

This morning, you will visit Ti Top Island, cruise to Ba Hang Fishing village, passing Fighting cock, Dog Rock and Incense Burned. The boat will cruise at a slow pace back to the harbour.

Upon arrival to the pier, meet your driver and head back straight to Hanoi to your hotel. Tonight, we will have Farewell dinner with your Coordinator in Hanoi. Say goodbye to the new family you have made in your time at Camp Vietnam!

Day 14: Hanoi departure

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. We hope you enjoyed your time with us! It is time to say goodbye and plan for your next adventure!
